Digital Partners

Our aim is to Get Shropshire online.  This is no mean feat. There are various aspects to getting Shropshire Online:

  1. Individuals and communities need the enthusiasm, the skills and the confidence to get on line
  2. IT equipment needs to be available and affordable
  3. The broadband infrastructure needs to be available, reliable and preferably speedy

In the first year of the project we focussed on harnassing voluntary effort to enthuse, show and get people on line; the Digital Champions, a bunch of amazing people bringing a great variety of skills to the table.

We also worked with many organisations, companies and groups who help our cause in a variety of ways. We would like this project to be all inclusive in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and we are continuously looking for innovative ways to get the whole county involved.

Please email info@getshropshireonline.co.uk if you can help or phone us, detail top right of your screen.

Media Partners

  • BBC Radio Shropshire A partner from the off, BBC Radio Shropshire is offering us great  publicity support by broadcasting interviews with learners, volunteers and project staff. They are helping to raise the profile of the project throughout the county. They also have their own fantastic initiative BBC First Click .
  • Shropshire Star Again, right from project kick off, the Shropshire Star has supported us with publication of features and news items about the project’s campaigns and activities. Especially during Spring Online week, we know that it reached lots of people throughout the county. Several people came to taster sessions waving a copy of the articles.
  • shropshirelive.com The team behind this Shropshire news and information website are supporting this project by helping set up and hosting this website for free, they are also promoting our activities both on and offline.
